# OFOR Campaign: We'll fix your roads before elections- Kwadaso MCE to residents
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly, Hon. Richmond Agyenim Boateng, has indicated the government's readiness to fix poor roads within the Kwadaso municipality before 2020 elections.
According to him, contractors who have abandoned road projects in the municipality will soon resume works as the government has laid down pragmatic measures to release funds from the $2 billion SinoHydro facility to the contractors.
Hon. Agyenim Boateng in an interview with Otec News’ reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, called on residents to exercise restraints and halt their intended demonstration as the government is working around the clock to fix the bad roads.
The MCE’s assurance came in the wake of the recent decision by some residents within the Kwadaso municipality to stage a demonstration against the government over the deplorable nature of roads in the area.
The residents, who set August 19, 2019, for the demonstration said among other things that the bad roads in the area are impeding economic activities and loss of lives.
The MCE’s response was in reactions to the residents’ intended demonstration during their interviews on Otec FM’s new programme ‘Asanteman Nkwan’, on a project called 'Operation Fix Our Roads' (#OFOR), expressed worry over the challenges facing the residents and assured them the government’s willingness to solve the problem.
'Operation Fix Our Roads' (#OFOR) is a project initiated by Otec FM in collaboration with Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), to fix bad roads in the Ashanti region.
