MP For Dormaa East Constituency Support District PHEC Against COVID 19
The Member of Parliament of Dormaa East Constituency, Hon. Williams Kwesi Sabi who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Monitoring and Evaluation has on Monday, April 6, 2020, donated items for ensuring personal hygiene, worth thousands of cedis to the District Public Health Emergency Committee (PHEC) to fight coronavirus.
The items which include thousands three hundred (1300) bottles of hand sanitizers, thousand three hundred (1300) bottle of liquid soap, fifty (50) veronica buckets, tissues papers, hundred pieces of locally produced nose mask among others, would be distributed to all public places, health centers, and the district hospital through the District Health Directorate.
In a brief ceremony at the forecourt of the District hospital, the MP, who handed the items to the Committee said he appreciates the multiple measures put in place by the PHEC as well as their activities to fight the disease and him in a way, wish to supplement their effort with the donated items.
He promised more of the items to come in a week’s time. He reminded all and sundry of the directives put forward by the president to mitigate to the menace.
The District Chief Executive, Hon Emmanuel Kofi Agyeman who is the Chairman of the committee, on behalf of the chiefs and people of the District, thanked the MP for the gesture and asked for more.
He added that the government is doing all it can to save the country from this deadly disease and everyone has a role to play in the fight. He noted that the Committee is doing anything necessary; by buying PPES, detergents and what have you to ensure the district free itself from any possible case.
He said at the moment the committee has locally made two hundred and fifty (250) nose masks for distribution to frontline workers in the district. He called on all within and outside the district who can assist the Committee to give their best in the fight against the disease to come with their support.
The DCE also emphasized all the measures put in place by the government to especially encouraged health workers to give their utmost best to combat the disease.
